LOW-STICK WIDE BUCKETS

INCREASE PRODUCTIVITY
- DigMax wide cleaning buckets are designed and built to match the New Zealand market, which has sticky, heavy soils.
- Traditional 90 degree corners in the back of the bucket cause material to become compressed, stick, and then builds up, dramatically reducing payload and significantly increasing fuel burn.
- The 'Slipmax' and 'Bulkmax' buckets specifically address these issues. After extensive trials over several months we have now standardised on chamfered back corners on all our wide, tilting and GP buckets, resulting in a "low stick" bucket. The trials were completed in various soil types and have proven the chamfers significantly reduce sticking and carry-back, reducing fuel burn and increasing productivity.
- The chamfers also add strength to the floor of the bucket. To offset any loss of capacity, we have gone to a slightly longer floor creating an enhanced "scoop shape". This creates a larger bucket opening which has additional benefits;
- Pull through the dirt easier, increasing production, and reducing fuel burn
- Material flows in easier, reducing packing / sticking / carry-back
- Material dumps out easier & faster, and reduces sticking / carry-back
- The larger opening creates a longer angle of repose when heaping material in the bucket for bulk loading, increasing capacity and productivity
- The longer floor provides good visibility to the bucket edge when reaching right out for finishing / grading work
- We have buckets available with and without the internal rib, as some contractors prefer the rib for strength and assisting to break up clay, and some prefer without rib.
- Included as standard items:
- Removable bucket pins
- Reversible, bolt on cutting edges on all wide and tilting buckets (3 ton and above)
- Wear strips on underside
- Option ribless on 12 and 20 ton (Slipmax series)
- Double, triple, and quadruple welds in high load point areas
SLIPMAX - NO RIB
Available up to 20 ton class
Slipmax buckets have no internal rib, and a longer floor, ideal for finishing, grading, and loading
12- 14 ton class available in widths of 1850mm and 2000mm Wide
20 ton class width 2100mm
Slipmax 12 - 20 ton class
BULKMAX - SINGLE RIB
Bulkmax buckets have a single low profile centre rib for reinforcment, and a slightly shorter floor:
- Heavy duty application
- Fleet owners where buckets can get a hard time
- The shorter floor deal for working around manholes / utility works
BULKMAX 12 - 38 TON
12- 14 ton class available in widths of
1850mm and 2000mm
20 ton class width 2100mm(2180mm axcross cutting edge)
28 - 35 ton class width 2200mm(2240mm across cutting edge)
BULKMAX 38 - 50 TON
Width 2200mm (or custom to suit)
(2240mm across cutting edge)
Slipmax 1850mm Wide Bucket on Cat 313 Next Gen REM Earthmoving Limited
The TR Tilt-Hitch & the new DigMax Slipmax 1850mm wide bucket for REM Earthworks, Albany, coupled to a Cat 313 Next Gen.
Both owner and operator carefully considered all available options in the market for a tilting quick coupler and wide bucket.
The TR Tilt-Hitch was decided upon for the design principles of being robust, compact and uncomplicated.
The 12-14 class TR Tilt-Hitch weighs just 340kg, 120kg lighter than a motor tilt - that weight saving can go into the load.
Operator Dallas Rudolph-karena loving the compact and lightweight TR Tilt-Hitch, with full torque throughout the complete stroke providing 100% control at all times.
"I can hardly notice the hitch, its awesome. You can actually see just how simple it is, a beautiful piece of engineering."
"The balance is perfect. I get massive loads in the Digmax bucket - makes loading out heaps quicker, and the bucket cuts like a knife through hot butter, sticky material certainly comes out a lot easier, it's an awesome shape!"
Higher capacity loads (from the scoop shape) and reduced carry-back are key features of the new Slipmax & Bulkmax.
Note in the pictures and video the large heaped loads made possible by the scoop shape, providing a longer angle of repose for increased heaped capacity. Also note how freely the material flows in and out of the bucket: increased cycle times, reduced carry-back, increased production and reduced fuel consumption.
